Ambassador Highlights Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant’s Role in Azerbaijan-China Partnership

Baku: Cooperation between Azerbaijan and China is being further strengthened through the success of the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant, China's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, stated during a briefing held at the embassy, APA reports. The ambassador emphasized the significance of the power plant project as a cornerstone in the bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ambassador Lu Mei highlighted her participation in the opening ceremony of the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant, the largest wind power facility in the region, alongside Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev on January 8 this year. This event marked a milestone in the partnership, showcasing a shared commitment to sustainable energy development.

The ambassador underscored the impact of the project, which is set to provide electricity to over 300,000 households. The initiative aims to bolster sustainable development in Azerbaijan and the broader South Caucasus region by significantly reducing carbon emissions by more than 400,000 tons. This aligns with both countries' goals for environmental sustainability and economic collaboration.
