Baku: Pakistan's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Qasim Mohiuddin, shared that the number of Pakistani tourists visiting Azerbaijan exceeded 90,000 last year.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ambassador Mohiuddin highlighted the remarkable increase in transportation links between the two countries, particularly in commercial aviation and logistics. He noted that two Pakistani airlines, PIA and Air Blue, along with Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), operate numerous direct flights between Islamabad, Lahore, and Baku, ensuring almost daily connectivity. This robust air link has facilitated the significant growth in tourism.

The ambassador also discussed the Transit Trade Agreement (TTA) in place, which has established a fast and cost-effective land corridor for goods transit. The land routes available between Pakistan and Azerbaijan include options through Iran or Afghanistan, continuing through Turkmenistan and reaching Azerbaijan via the Caspian Sea. The diplomat expressed optimism that stabilizing conditions in Iran could further boost the flow of goods through this corridor.
