Ammunition Explosion in Kalbajar District Injures Local Resident

Kalbajar: An ammunition explosion on July 21 in the Zaylik village of the liberated Kalbajar district injured one person, according to a joint statement by Azerbaijan's Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's office.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Sarkhan Isgandarov, a resident of the Gazakh district born in 1987, sustained injuries while grazing animals in an area that had not been cleared of mines. Following the incident, the district prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation.

In light of the incident, ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the General Prosecutor's Office have reiterated their call for citizens to strictly adhere to safety protocols. They emphasize the importance of paying attention to mine danger signs, avoiding unfamiliar or potentially hazardous areas, and not interfering in areas where fencing activities are underway.
