Anacl¡udia Rossbach Highlights the Need for Balanced Urban Settlements at World Urban Forum

Baku: Anacl¡udia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), emphasized the importance of creating urban settlements that cater to both people and nature during her address at the opening ceremony of the Mexican pavilion at the Urban Expo. The 13th Session of the World Urban Forum, held in Baku, focuses on transforming cities to ensure that urban residents are treated with respect and that their needs are met not only through market mechanisms but also by safeguarding their rights and providing essential services.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Rossbach expressed hope that future settlements will be designed to harmonize the needs of people with natural environments. She also expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming World Urban Forum 14 event, scheduled to be held in Mexico City in 2028. Rossbach praised Mexico City as one of the world's most beautiful cities and looked forward to continuing discussions about urban transformation in this vibrant setting after the current forum in Baku.
