ANAMA Clears Over 1,190 Hectares of Mines and Unexploded Ordnance

Baku: The Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) successfully neutralized 23 mines and 743 unexploded ordnance (UXOs) in various districts from February 2 to 9. The extensive mine-clearance operations took place in Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Khojavend, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, ANAMA's operations resulted in the detection and neutralization of 8 anti-personnel mines, 15 anti-tank mines, and a significant number of UXOs. This effort led to the clearance of 1,191.2 hectares of land from hazardous explosives during the reporting period.

The clearance operations are part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and accessibility of previously conflict-affected areas, paving the way for safe habitation and development.
