Baku: The Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) has successfully neutralized 60 mines and 683 unexploded ordnances (UXOs) in a series of operations conducted from December 8 to 14. These efforts took place across multiple districts, including Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Khojavend, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, ANAMA’s recent operations led to the detection and neutralization of 42 anti-personnel mines and 18 anti-tank mines, significantly enhancing the safety of these regions. The extensive mine-clearance process resulted in a total of 838.2 hectares of land being cleared of hazardous mines and UXOs.
The initiative underscores ANAMA’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents within these districts. The successful clearance operations are expected to pave the way for the safe return of displaced families and the restoration of normal activities in the affected areas.
