Baku: In April, mine clearance operations in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories resulted in the detection of 381 mines and 3,047 unexploded ordnances (UXOs), ANAMA told APA. These operations were part of ongoing efforts to ensure safety and accessibility in regions that were previously conflict zones.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the operations were conducted in the regions of Tartar, Aghdam, Aghdara, Lachin, Fuzuli, Shusha, Khojaly, Khankandi, Kalbajar, Khojavend, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan. The demining efforts uncovered a total of 302 anti-personnel mines, 79 anti-tank mines, and 3,047 UXOs.
Overall, 6,365.7 hectares of land were cleared of mines and explosive remnants of war throughout the month. The successful clearance of these hazardous materials marks a significant step towards the safe resettlement and development of these regions.
