ANAMA Neutralizes Over 5,000 Mines and UXOs in March

Baku: The Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) successfully conducted mine-clearance operations across multiple districts in March, resulting in the neutralization of a significant number of explosive devices. The districts involved in these operations included Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Khojavend, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, ANAMA's efforts led to the detection and neutralization of 236 anti-personnel mines, 267 anti-tank mines, and 4,922 unexploded ordnance (UXO). These operations played a crucial role in enhancing safety and security in the affected regions.

During the reporting period, ANAMA successfully cleared a total of 5,336.5 hectares of land from the threat of mines and UXOs. This extensive clearance operation is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of residents and facilitate the safe return of displaced individuals to their communities.
