ANAMA releases information on the death of two civilians in surprise mine blast in Shusha

Two civilians – Khanatov Orkhan Nazim oglu, born in 1999, and Gandiyev Vusal Firuddin oglu, born in 1993 have died in the mine explosion in the 1,300 meters from Dashalti village of Shusha city, in the area where demining operations are not carried out, ANAMA has informed.

The incident has occurred at around 08:30, on December 9. Bodies of both civilians have been taken from the mined territory by the employees of the Agency and have been relevantly handed over.

Those who died as a result of the explosion have been the employees of the construction company carrying out restoration and construction works in Dashalti village”.

According to preliminary investigations conducted by the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), the incident took place as a result of a surprise mine explosion buried by the enemy. Putting of an anti-tank mine under an anti-personnel mine causes a more powerful explosion and, in turn, the death of person who stepped on. Those kinds of surprises are another clear example of the terrorist intentions of the Armenian side.

Those who are engaged with the reconstruction works in the liberated territories are once again urged by ANAMA not to enter dangerous and suspicious areas and not to touch unknown objects,” the information reads.
