Baku: The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has announced the number of mine victims in Azerbaijan since November 10, 2020. According to ANAMA, the total number of mine victims in this period is 421 individuals. Among these, 72 people lost their lives while 349 sustained injuries.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the statistics reveal that among those who died due to mine incidents, 57 were civilians and 15 were servicemen. The injured include 171 civilians and 178 servicemen. This announcement comes on the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by the country in addressing the impact of mines on its population.
