Baku: Anglo Asian Mining (AAM), a British miner dealing in gold, copper, and silver, has sharply increased its gold production in Azerbaijan in the first half of this year, APA-Economics reports. The company, listed on the AIM exchange, boosted its gold production by 2.5 times compared to the same period last year, reaching 12,115 ounces.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, gold production in the second quarter of 2025 amounted to 6,086 ounces, marking a significant increase from the same period last year, where production was 2,438 ounces. The company’s total production for the period reached 8,293 gold equivalent ounces. A key factor in this increase was the commencement of operations at the Gilar mine in May, which produced 106,510 tons of ore at an average ore grade of 1.23 g/t gold and 0.84% copper.
Copper production also saw a substantial rise, reaching 1,188 tons in the first half of the year, compared to 100 tons in the same period in 2024. Similarly, silver production increased fivefold, totaling 62,354 ounces.
During the reporting period, the company sold 9,781 ounces of gold bullion at an average price of $3,077 per ounce. AAM generated a positive cash flow of $1.8 million over the half-year, successfully reducing its net debt to $13.0 million.
Reza Vaziri, CEO of AAM, noted that the significant rise in production followed the Gilar mine’s operation commencement. He further mentioned plans to start production at the Demirli field in the coming months, which is expected to be pivotal in transforming the company into a multi-asset producer.
