According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Joo Louren§o highlighted Angola’s active engagement with Azerbaijan, referencing Vice President Esperan§a Costa’s recent visit to Baku for COP29. During her visit, Costa held discussions with Azerbaijani officials to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral ties.

President Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s dedication to fostering relations with African countries, including Angola. He emphasized the potential for expanding cooperation across multiple sectors. The conversation also touched upon the historical connection between the countries, noting the contributions of Angolan students who studied in Azerbaijan during the Soviet era and are now aiding Angola’s development.

Considering Angola’s current leadership of the African Union, the discussion extended to potential collaboration between Azerbaijan and the African Union, exploring mutually beneficial opportunities.
