ANIMAFILM Festival Attracts Global Attention with Over 400 Submissions

Baku: The 9th ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival is set to take place from May 13-17 at the Nizami Cinema Center and the Surakhani Ship-Museum. Organized by the Azerbaijan Animation Association and ANIMAFILM LLC, the festival enjoys the support of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, ANIMAFILM has received 437 animated films from more than 60 countries, marking a significant achievement for Azerbaijan's only animation festival. The festival's selection committee has curated a lineup of 34 films from 21 countries, showcasing diverse animation techniques and addressing both global and local issues.

Festival Director Rashid Aghamaliyev emphasized the international recognition ANIMAFILM has gained, with nearly 450 film submissions highlighting its growing prominence. The event will also feature the 2nd ANIMAFILM International Pitching Competition, along with masterclasses, professional meetings, and discussion panels aimed at fostering industry development. The festival remains committed to bridging local animation talents with international expertise.
