Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan declared on Thursday that Ankara is "completely opposed to any plan that aims to provoke civil war in Iran and fuel conflicts along ethnic or religious fault lines". Fidan's comments came during a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul in Ankara.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Fidan stressed the need to end the ongoing war in the Middle East as soon as possible, mentioning that Trkiye is making "intensive efforts" to achieve this goal. He highlighted that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been in discussions with numerous world leaders and continues to pursue diplomatic avenues. Fidan also noted his own active involvement in diplomatic efforts.
Fidan stated that Trkiye is prepared for "any scenario" regarding the current war and its aftermath. He assured that Ankara is working "day and night to ensure the safety of Turkish citizens in the region."
