Mumbai: A panel discussion on 'Building Low-Carbon Housing: From National Policy to Local Action' was held as part of WUF13. Shankar Deshpande, Chief Investment and Planning Officer of Mumbai, emphasized the importance of transitioning to ecological construction, highlighting it as both a climate necessity and an economic priority for urban areas.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Deshpande stated that while governments should offer incentives for adopting energy-saving technologies, the real transformation must begin at the municipal level. He noted that the experiences of Indian megacities like Mumbai provide valuable insights into implementing such changes effectively.
