An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 shook Argentina on Monday, data by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) showed, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The quake was registered 188 kilometers northwest of the city of Salta at a depth of 193.4 kilometers.

According to the latest census, Salta’s population amounts to approximately 618,000.
