Baku: Foreign experts participating in Azerbaijani events held abroad are reportedly facing harassment from the Armenian diaspora, stated MP Fariz Ismayilzadeh during a public hearing on ‘The Role of NGOs in the Return Process to Western Azerbaijan’. The hearing was organized by the Committee for Public Associations and Religious Institutions of the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan’s parliament.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ismayilzadeh highlighted that the Armenian diaspora has been active in sending numerous letters to universities where these foreign experts are employed. These actions allegedly result in the closure of departments and other forms of pressure on the experts. The MP urged for the protection of these foreign collaborators through the support of foreign embassies, emphasizing the need to safeguard the integrity of Azerbaijani-organized events and the experts who contribute to them.
