Khankendi: A trial took place in Khankendi concerning Avanesyan Karen Albertovich, an individual of Armenian origin, who stands accused of terrorism and other grave offenses, as reported by APA. The proceedings were overseen by Judge Ilkin Ibishov from the Ganja Court on Grave Crimes. During the trial, Avanesyan was provided with both an interpreter and legal representation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the prosecutor presented the indictment against Avanesyan, detailing the charges related to his alleged criminal activities. Following the announcement of the indictment, Avanesyan gave his statement in court, after which victims and witnesses involved in the case provided their testimonies. The trial is set to continue on December 18.

The charges stem from an incident on September 14, when Avanesyan left his residence and retrieved an AK-47 assault rifle, along with four ammunition magazines and five grenades, from a forest near Khankendi. His objective was to approach an event in the city. When police intervened, Avanesyan resisted by launching three grenades and firing the assault rifle. He was subsequently wounded by return fire and apprehended.

The evidence gathered led to Avanesyan being charged under multiple articles of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code, including attempted intentional killing in connection with terrorism, attempted murder, terrorism with firearms, illegal possession of firearms, and resisting law enforcement.
