Armenian PM is hopeful to sign agreement with Azerbaijan regarding railway construction

Armenia hopes to sign a legal document, allowing the start of construction of the Arazdeyen-Julfa-Ordubad-Mehri-Horadiz railway, with Azerbaijan soon, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the governmental meeting, APA-Economics reports citing TASS.

According to him, the Armenian side currently does concrete works on construction of the Armenian part of the Arazdeyen-Julfa-Ordubad-Mehri-Horadiz railway: “Technical works have already been started. We hope that reached agreements will find their reflection in form of a document and the process will fully be developed soon.”

According to Pashinyan, the government will announce a tender to start construction of the Sisian-Kajaran section of the North-South strategic road on Thursday: “Certainly, if there are political agreements, North-South automobile highway may also connect Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey.”
