Around 220,000 Foreign Nationals Live in Azerbaijan, Migration Chief Says

Baku: "While illegal migration has created serious social and security problems in a number of countries, the situation in Azerbaijan remains under control," Vusal Huseynov, Chief of the State Migration Service, stated during a media tour focused on "Media Awareness in the Field of Migration," APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Huseynov revealed that there are currently around 210,000 to 220,000 foreign nationals residing in Azerbaijan. This figure fluctuates depending on the season, with an increase in foreign residents during summer months due to higher tourist arrivals. Despite this influx, the number of individuals residing illegally is relatively small and considered manageable.
