Artist Farid Rasulov Showcases Innovative Carpet Collection at Azerkhalcha Exhibition Hall

Baku:An event featuring artist Farid Rasulov and his admirers took place at the Azerkhalcha exhibition hall in Icherisheher, highlighting the intersection of art and traditional carpet weaving.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event focused on the transformation of Rasulov's artistic works into carpets, particularly through the collection "Stitches That Keep Tales Alive Garabagh Carpets," created in collaboration with OJSC Azerkhalcha.

Participants at the event explored the translation of artistic ideas into carpets, the collaboration between artists and carpet makers, and the artistic value of handwoven carpets. Discussions also included the role of traditional craftsmanship in contemporary art, viewing carpets as both art pieces and interior design elements, and innovative expressions of Azerbaijan's carpet-weaving traditions.

The "Stitches That Keep Tales Alive Garabagh Carpets" collection, a collaboration with OJSC Azerkhalcha, reinterprets Garabagh carpet-making traditions using a contemporary artistic language. This collection aims to create a dialogue between heritage and modernity, blending historical narratives with modern artistic perspectives.

Unveiled at the International Carpet Festival, the collection features six carpets, including titles such as "The Tale of the White Horse and the Birds" and "The Legend of the Garabagh Horse." These works, crafted from wool and silk using a 3D technique, emphasize that cultural heritage must evolve to remain relevant.

Guests at the event had the chance to engage with the carpets closely, touching and viewing them. The collection will also be displayed at the Beyond Memory exhibition at QGallery in Icherisheher, as part of the Flight to Baku. Art Weekend Feel the Future NOW festival, scheduled from October 30 to November 1.
