ASAN Khidmet Model Highlighted as Exemplary in Public Service Delivery by UN Official

Baku:The ASAN Khidmet model of Azerbaijan has been recognized as a leading example of public service delivery, according to a statement made by United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, Li Junhua. He addressed this during the "UN Governance Innovation Summit Advancing Future-Ready Institutions" held in Baku.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Li Junhua emphasized the significance of public services in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting that they serve as the crucial point where policy becomes tangible in people's daily lives. He commended the ASAN Khidmet model for prioritizing service access, accessibility, and innovation, thereby redefining governmental trust and responsiveness to citizens' needs.

The international recognition of the ASAN Khidmet model was first marked by the 2015 UN Public Service Awards and again in 2019 when Azerbaijan received the UN Special Award for Advancing Public Service through the application of digital government. At the UN Public Service Forum hosted in Baku, Junhua reiterated the appreciation from the U.N. Department of Economic and Social Affairs for Azerbaijan's commitment to strengthening governmental capacities in developing countries.
