Asia to Account for Half of Global Natural Gas Demand Growth

Baku: Global natural gas demand is projected to grow by 1.5% annually between 2024 and 2030, equivalent to an increase of 380 billion cubic meters, APA-Economics reports, citing the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Gas 2025: Analysis and Forecast to 2030 report.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, half of this growth will come from the Asia-Pacific region. The report highlights that the rapid economic development and industrial expansion in countries across Asia are key factors contributing to this surge in demand.

Furthermore, the report indicates that 30% of the demand increase will be driven by the Middle East. This rise is attributed to countries such as Saudi Arabia transitioning from oil to gas for electricity generation, reflecting a broader regional shift towards cleaner energy sources.
