Baku: Federal President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen has sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Van der Bellen expressed his warmest regards and highlighted the strong bilateral relations between Austria and Azerbaijan. The letter emphasized the potential for expanding cooperation as prospects for sustainable peace and security between Azerbaijan and Armenia seem promising, benefitting the people of both nations. Additionally, Van der Bellen extended his gratitude for Azerbaijan's support of Austria's candidature for a seat on the UN Security Council for 2027-2028.

The Austrian President concluded his letter by wishing President Aliyev and his family well and expressing hopes for a peaceful and prosperous future for the people of Azerbaijan.
