Award Ceremony Honors Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in Tashkent

Tashkent: An award ceremony celebrating the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan took place in Tashkent on August 23, highlighting the strengthening ties between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the gathering, extending a warm welcome to President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan. During his speech, Mirziyoyev emphasized the historical significance of the visit, noting the comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation and the adoption of a new roadmap aimed at increasing trade turnover to $1 billion. He praised President Aliyev's unwavering support and the achievements under his leadership, both in Azerbaijan's development and on the international stage.

Mirziyoyev also reflected on the shared history, culture, and traditions between the two nations, expressing admiration for the progress Azerbaijan has made under Aliyev's guidance, including the restoration of the country's territorial integrity. He highlighted the Treaty on Eternal Friendship as a pivotal moment in giving new substance to the countries' relations.

In a gesture of deep respect and recognition, President Mirziyoyev presented President Aliyev with the highest state award, the 'Dostlik' Order, acknowledging his significant contributions to strengthening Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations. He conveyed his heartfelt congratulations, wishing Aliyev good health and continued success, and expressed pride in the day's historic developments.
