Baku: The implementation of Presidential Decree No. 718, issued on June 3, 2019, by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the development of the ‘Government Cloud’ (G-Cloud) and the provision of cloud services, is ongoing. Under this initiative, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) has successfully transferred its information systems and resources to the ‘Government Cloud’. This migration was completed at the Baku Data Center, operated by ‘AzInTelecom’ LLC, a subsidiary of AZCON Holding, ensuring the high availability of AYNA’s critical systems.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, AzInTelecom provided AYNA with a range of cloud services. These services include Virtual Server – IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) and Backup – BaaS (Backup-as-a-Service). In addition, AYNA has access to SPLA-licensed Microsoft products and SIP telephony services. This migration is part of a broader project that involves the full or partial relocation of state institutions’ IT systems to the Main Data Center in Baku and the Backup Data Center in Yevlakh, leading to reduced IT costs and enhanced performance.

The project aims to bolster information security, create a more resilient IT infrastructure, and improve service delivery through 24/7 monitoring. Notably, ‘AzInTelecom’ LLC has achieved ‘TIER III’ certification, setting international standards for cloud services in the South Caucasus region.
