AZAL Expands Fleet with New Airbus A321neo

Baku: Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), a part of AZCON Holding, has announced the addition of its first next-generation Airbus A321neo to its fleet, delivered from Hamburg on June 25.

According to Azeri-Press Nws Aency, this delivery marks a significant milestone in AZAL's fleet modernization program. The airline's Airbus narrow-body fleet now includes the Airbus A319ceo, A320ceo, A320neo, and A321neo models. The A321neo will assist AZAL in increasing capacity on high-demand routes and improving operational efficiency, while offering enhanced passenger experiences and flexibility for future network development.

The inclusion of the Airbus A321neo introduces the Airbus Airspace cabin concept, offering improved comfort with features such as customizable ambient lighting, redesigned sidewall panels for more personal space, larger windows with integrated shades, full LED cabin lighting, and expanded overhead compartments. The aircraft also boasts around 20% lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat compared to previous generation aircraft, with a range of up to 7,400 kilometers.

With a spacious cabin in the single-aisle segment and seating for up to 191 passengers, the A321neo is equipped with the latest in-flight entertainment systems and high-speed onboard Wi-Fi, ensuring connectivity throughout the journey. This delivery follows the recent addition of a new Airbus A320neo and reinforces AZAL's commitment to maintaining a modern and fuel-efficient fleet. The airline aims to expand its fleet to 50 aircraft by 2032, which will support future network growth and solidify its position as a leading regional carrier.
