Baku: Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), a subsidiary of AZCON Holding, has introduced an enchanting new initiative aimed at its youngest passengers with the publication of a children’s book titled ‘Blue Plane Dreams’. The book is a vibrant and inspirational work designed to engage children with the world of aviation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the book was produced by TEAS Press Publishing House at AZAL’s request and is dedicated to International Civil Aviation Day, observed on December 7. It will be available in both Azerbaijani and English and will be given as a complimentary gift to young passengers on AZAL flights.

During the presentation ceremony, Ilham Amirov, Vice-President of AZAL, highlighted the project’s potential impact in nurturing future civil aviation experts. Written by acclaimed children’s author Murshud Ismayilzadeh, the story follows an eight-year-old boy named Azer. For his birthday, Azer receives a special gift from his grandfather, a former AZAL pilot: a model airplane that ignites his passion for aviation.

Azer’s older brother, Murad, a student at the National Aviation Academy, assists him in assembling the model. The book educates young readers on how airplanes operate and shares intriguing aviation facts, such as aircraft design inspirations from nature, including birds, bats, and fish.

The book also marks a significant year for Azer, as he embarks on his first flight from Baku to Karabakh, leaving a lasting impression and further fueling his dream of becoming a pilot.

‘Blue Plane Dreams’ is part of AZAL’s larger initiative to foster an interest in aviation among children, enhance their understanding, and create pathways for future opportunities in the field.
