AZAL: We do not use Armenia’s airspace

The flight of Turkish Airlines in the direction of Nakhchivan-Ganja has been operated through the airspace of Armenia, by the airline approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and used for a long time, Azerbaijani Airlines (AZAL) told APA-Economics.

It is noted that flights are carried out by foreign airlines to/from Armenian airlines through the airspace of Azerbaijan by international airlines approved by ICAO.

It means that there is not any restriction to the flights of commercial aviation in order to carry out flights to Armenian airlines through the airspace of Azerbaijan”, noted AZAL.

Besides that, due to the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia and non-existence of mutual financial reporting, AZAL aircompany does not operate flights on international airlines passing through the airspace of Armenia.

Note that according to the information of Flight Radar resource, on September 4, a passenger plane of Turkish Airlines conducted flight from Ganja to Nakhchivan via Armenian airspace.
