Baku: Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense has accused Iran of launching four drones targeting the Nakhchivan region, with one drone successfully neutralized by the Azerbaijani army. The incident has raised tensions between the two neighboring countries.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued a statement condemning the actions, highlighting that one of the drones targeted a secondary school during class hours. Fortunately, the drone did not reach its intended target, crashing and exploding near the school without causing any harm to students or staff.
The statement further criticized Iran's denial of the attack, calling their claim of respecting the sovereignty of all countries unacceptable. Azerbaijan has demanded an apology from Iran and urged them to take disciplinary action against those responsible for the attack.
Azerbaijan is expecting an immediate cessation of such aggressive acts and a formal apology from the Iranian armed forces, as well as punitive measures against those involved in the incident. The ongoing situation has underscored the fragile relations between the two nations.
