Baku: Azerbaijan has shown notable progress in its average broadband internet speed, climbing two spots to rank 81st among 153 countries, with an average fixed broadband internet speed of 82.58 MB/s. This improvement was recorded last month, as reported by APA-Economics, referencing the Speedtest Global Index. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the country's average fixed broadband internet speed has doubled compared to the same time last year. In the global rankings, Singapore continues to lead with a speed of 386.96 MB/s, while Syria holds the last place with 3.29 MB/s. In the realm of mobile internet speed, Azerbaijan ranked 56th out of 104 countries in July, experiencing a slight drop of one place from the previous month, with a speed of 74.76 MB/s. The United Arab Emirates topped the list with a mobile internet speed of 584.97 MB/s, whereas Bolivia was at the bottom with 14.7 MB/s. Within Azerbaijan, the capital city of Baku also saw improvements. It rose three places in terms of fixed broadband in ternet speed, ranking 112th among 198 cities with a speed of 83.27 MB/s. Abu Dhabi led the city rankings with a speed of 353.22 MB/s, and Aleppo was last with 2.73 MB/s. Baku also achieved a significant upward movement in mobile internet speed, advancing four places to rank 83rd among 148 cities, with a speed of 93.16 MB/s. Al Rayyan recorded the highest mobile internet speed at 581.31 MB/s, while La Paz in Bolivia recorded the lowest at 11.12 MB/s.
