Azerbaijan Advances in Karabakh Conflict, Liberates Key Territories

BAKU: The Azerbaijani Army’s tactical moves during the second Karabakh war have led to the successful liberation of several key villages across multiple districts, marking significant progress in the conflict that began with the “Iron Fist” operation on September 27, 2020. This development follows a series of military operations aimed at reclaiming territories under Armenian control for nearly three decades.

According to Trend News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev announced via Twitter the liberation of Zilanli, Kurd Mahrizli, Muganli, and Alagurshag villages in the Gubadli district. He further confirmed the Azerbaijani forces’ success in reclaiming Dolanar and Bunyadli villages in the Khojavend district, along with Dag Tumas, Nusus, Xelefli, Minbashili, and Veyselli villages in the Jabrayil district, and Venedli and Mirzehasanli villages in the Zengilan district.

In addition to these territorial gains, President Aliyev communicated with the father of National Hero Shukur Hamidov, acknowledging the sacrifices
of those who have perished in the ongoing conflict. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense reported significant advances on the frontlines, citing the liberation of strategic territories and heights, which led to Armenian forces abandoning their positions.

The escalation also saw intense shelling in the Tartar, Aghdam, and Aghjabadi districts, with Azerbaijani forces successfully neutralizing four Armenian UAVs. Published footage demonstrated the destruction of Armenian personnel and equipment, with videos capturing the aftermath in Minbashili village and other strategic locations across the Khojavend and Fuzuli directions. Additional footage showed the destruction of Armenian artillery units and a command post following targeted airstrikes.

These developments underscore Azerbaijan’s continuing efforts to restore its territorial integrity after decades of conflict.
