Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has announced that Azerbaijan has commenced the production of various types of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and plans to continue expanding its capabilities in this area. He made this statement during a speech at the 80th anniversary conference of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized the strategic importance of UAVs in modern warfare, noting that Azerbaijan was among the pioneers in deploying these technologies in combat situations. He highlighted that Azerbaijan’s efforts in UAV production are complemented by ongoing acquisitions from foreign markets, which together bolster the country’s defense capabilities. The president also stressed the significant opportunities this expansion presents for Azerbaijan’s scientific community.
