Azerbaijan Aims for Rapid Completion of Eastern Zangezur to Nakhchivan Communication Link

Istanbul: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the country’s commitment to swiftly completing the communication project that will connect Eastern Zangezur and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. This statement was made during a meeting of foreign ministers from the “3+3” platform in Istanbul, as reported by Trend News Agency.

According to Trend News Agency, Bayramov emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and mutual respect among neighboring states since Azerbaijan regained independence. He noted that this cooperation has facilitated several significant regional and global projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the North-South Corridor. The Foreign Minister expressed optimism that similar collaborative projects would extend to Nakhchivan, particularly focusing on enhancing communications through the territory of Iran that connects it with the Eastern Zangezur economic region.

The meeting in Istanbul follows the last “3+3” format gathering, which took place in Te
hran on October 23 of the previous year. This diplomatic platform included the participation of Foreign Ministers from Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey, and Armenia – namely Jeyhun Bayramov, Sergey Lavrov, Hakan Fidan, and Ararat Mirzoyan.
