Baku: Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev announced plans to increase the average internet speed to 200 megabits per second by the end of the year. This announcement was made during a meeting focused on the unified action plan for 'Azerbaijan's New Digital Architecture.'
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Nabiyev highlighted the successful completion of the 'Online Azerbaijan' project. He stated that when the project commenced, the average internet speed in the country was approximately 12 megabits per second. Currently, the average speed has increased to 90 megabits per second, with state-owned companies experiencing speeds of 150 megabits per second. Nabiyev emphasized that there are no remote areas in Azerbaijan without access to broadband internet.
