Ankara: Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Defense and Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, is on an official visit to Trkiye, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC. As part of his visit, Lieutenant General Islamzade attended several events related to the 'Anatolian Eagle-2026' international tactical flight exercise, where he interacted with the exercise participants.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Colonel Zaur Mammadov, head of the Azerbaijani delegation, provided a detailed briefing to Lieutenant General Islamzade on the exercise's progress and the assignments given to the personnel. The Deputy Minister expressed his commendation for the professionalism displayed by those involved in the exercise.

Furthermore, Lieutenant General Islamzade had a meeting with the Commander of the Turkish Air Force, Army General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu. They engaged in discussions regarding the current state of bilateral cooperation in military aviation and explored future prospects. Both commanders emphasized the significance of joint exercises and the mutual benefits of sharing expertise.

In addition to attending the exercise, the air force commanders conducted an aerial observation of the activities and visited an exhibition organized as part of the exercise. They examined various displays of military equipment and weaponry, highlighting the collaborative efforts between Azerbaijan and Trkiye in the defense sector.
