St. Petersburg:Several Azerbaijan Airlines flights between Baku and Moscow have been temporarily suspended. Changes were made to the operation of the J2-185/J2-186 and J2-805/J2-806 flights scheduled for October 9. The disruptions are due to restrictions imposed in Russian airspace, as stated by the Press Service of Azerbaijan Airlines.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the J2-185 flight from Baku to Moscow, which was operated in the morning, had to divert and land in St. Petersburg. The aircraft could not return to Baku due to the reintroduced airspace restrictions.
Additionally, the J2-805 flight from Baku to Moscow returned to Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The restrictions affected not only the timely arrival of aircraft at their destination airports but also the operation of subsequent flights. Consequently, the evening flights J2-186 and J2-806 on the same routes were postponed.
The national air carrier is actively monitoring the situation and is committed to providing necessary support to passengers. Updates on flight schedules will be communicated through official channels. Azerbaijan Airlines emphasizes that passenger and flight safety is their top priority, and all operational decisions are made considering the current conditions and safety requirements.
