Baku: Azerbaijan Airlines, a subsidiary of AZCON Holding, has introduced its fourth aircraft of the year, an Airbus A320neo, to its fleet, the airline confirmed to APA-Economics. This addition marks a significant milestone as the airline's total operational fleet now consists of 30 aircraft.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the incorporation of the new Airbus A320neo is part of Azerbaijan Airlines' ongoing fleet renewal programme. This strategic initiative aims to replace older aircraft with modern, new-generation models to enhance operational flexibility and address the increasing passenger demand more efficiently. Additionally, the programme seeks to expand the airline's route network further.

The new Airbus A320neo comes equipped with the Airspace cabin, which includes larger overhead baggage compartments, high-speed Wi-Fi, individual monitors for Business Class passengers, and new-generation engines. These features collectively enhance the passenger experience while contributing to lower fuel consumption and reduced carbon emissions.

In the first half of the year, Azerbaijan Airlines expanded its fleet with the addition of two Airbus A320neo and one Airbus A321neo aircraft. The national carrier has ambitious plans to continue this growth trajectory, aiming to introduce a record number of new aircraft by the end of 2026. By 2032, Azerbaijan Airlines plans to expand its fleet to 50 aircraft, signifying a substantial commitment to growth and modernization.
