Azerbaijan Allocates AZN 1 Million for Restoration of Momine Khatun Mausoleum

Nakhchivan: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order concerning the restoration and conservation of the Momine Khatun Mausoleum, a historical and architectural monument located in the city of Nakhchivan. This significant development aims to preserve the unique historical appearance of the mausoleum for future generations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani government has allocated AZN 1 million from the Presidential Reserve Fund, designated in the 2025 state budget, to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. This funding will support the initial restoration and conservation work on this world-renowned monument.

The Momine Khatun Mausoleum, a prominent historical and cultural landmark in Nakhchivan, is a significant example of Azerbaijani national architecture. Created by the 12th-century architect Ajami Nakhchivani, the mausoleum holds a prestigious position among the masterpieces of Islamic architecture due to its compositional solutions. It is a testament to the highly developed culture and statehood traditions of Azerbaijan during that era.
