BAKU — Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance, Samir Sharifov, revealed significant budget allocations for the rehabilitation of the country’s liberated areas during a discussion at the Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Minister’s statement during the session for the “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2024,” approximately 12 billion manats have been designated for the restoration process over the past three years. Initially, the budget for these efforts stood at 7.4 billion manats. However, due to additional revenues and savings within certain state institutions, this figure has seen an increase. Sharifov emphasized the government’s commitment to direct any surplus in the state budget, pending there are no fiscal conflicts, towards the ongoing reconstruction of the liberated regions.
