Azerbaijan Amends Wildlife Law to Include Mine Clearance Activities

Baku: Azerbaijan's Parliament has approved a significant amendment to the Law 'On Wildlife,' incorporating mine clearance activities as a recognized use of wildlife. This legislative change was discussed and voted on during the latest session of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the amendment specifies that animals can now be employed in mine clearance operations. This utilization will be conducted in accordance with standard operating procedures aimed at detecting explosive ordnance. The draft law successfully passed its first reading during the parliamentary session.
