Azerbaijan and Armenia Foreign Ministers Plan New York Meeting

New york: The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan are planning to meet in New York this month, as announced by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. This meeting is expected to take place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mirzoyan disclosed these plans in response to a question from the Armenian service of Radio Liberty. While the meeting is intended to occur during the UN General Assembly's 81st session, which began on September 8, no final agreement has been reached as the meeting depends on scheduling. Mirzoyan did not provide details about the meeting's agenda.

The last interaction between the foreign ministers took place in early September in Bishkek during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. After that meeting, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov mentioned that he and Mirzoyan had exchanged views on several issues and agreed to meet again soon.
