Azerbaijan and Austria Deliberate on Expanding Music Education Collaboration

Baku: Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Culture Murad Huseynov held a meeting with Wolfram Rosenberger, Director of the Innsbruck City Music School, to discuss the advancement of bilateral cooperation in music education and the exchange of expertise. The meeting was also attended by Leyla Gasimova, Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions revolved around music education for children and adolescents, the training of professional personnel, and the development of students' creative skills. Several initiatives were considered, including international and local competitions, summer and winter music courses, and joint scientific conferences and masterclasses.

Deputy Minister Murad Huseynov emphasized the crucial role of music education in shaping the worldview of younger generations. He pointed out that Azerbaijan's rich musical traditions necessitate the integration of international best practices to maintain the excellence and contemporary relevance of its educational system.

Wolfram Rosenberger elaborated on the activities of the Innsbruck City Music School, Austria's largest, which nurtures over 4,700 students through a diverse curriculum that includes symphony orchestras, jazz and rock ensembles, and specialized training in various instruments. The meeting also explored prospects for cooperation in developing musical skills of the younger generation and enhancing school management.
