Baku: Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov visited Belarus on August 28, where he engaged in discussions with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov. The meeting centered on enhancing the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Belarus, with leaders from both countries playing a pivotal role in fostering these ties.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting was followed by a new round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Belarus. These consultations were led by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov and Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Pavel Utyupin. The discussions highlighted the positive developments in bilateral political dialogue and emphasized the significant contributions of the Intergovernmental Commission and the mechanism of political consultations.

The parties exchanged views on implementing agreements already in place, and discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation in various sectors, including trade and economic, energy, agriculture, and humanitarian areas. Additionally, they explored cooperation within regional and international organizations and exchanged perspectives on other regional and bilateral issues of mutual interest.
