Azerbaijan and Chad Forge Strategic ICT Partnership

Baku: Samir Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, has met with Boukar Michel, Minister of Telecommunications, Digital Economy, and Digitalization of Chad. The meeting focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The Chadian delegation was briefed on Azerbaijan’s successful digital projects, specifically the ‘mygov’ e-government platform and the SIMA next-generation digital signature system. The sides explored the practical application of Azerbaijan’s digital transformation expertise in Chad.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions also covered cybersecurity, Azerbaijan’s support in developing human capital in Chad, and the involvement of Chadian students in ICT training programs in Azerbaijan. Furthermore, the sides agreed to prepare a comprehensive action plan covering all areas of cooperation in the near future, which will include a visit by Azerbaijani specialists to Chad. Chad will also study Azerbaijan’s experience in the establishment of a national data center.

The Chadian delegation signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Innovation and Digital Development Agency and Azercosmos. These agreements establish a framework for cooperation in digital transformation, innovation, and the export of digital products and satellite services.
