Baku: On July 23, Tahir Budagov, Deputy Chairman and Head of the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), engaged in a significant meeting with a delegation from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), led by Kang Shuai, Deputy Director General of the Information Research Center of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Budagov emphasized the robust development of relations between Azerbaijan and China, which are grounded in historical traditions, mutual trust, and a solid friendship. He noted that the leaders of both nations prioritize enhancing these ties. The Joint Statement on the Establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, signed during President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to China in April 2025, was highlighted as a pivotal development. This agreement opens new avenues for collaboration in areas such as green energy and digital technology.

Budagov reiterated Azerbaijan's firm support for the 'One China' policy and highlighted the strategic importance of initiatives like the Belt and Road initiative and the Zangezur Corridor. He also pointed out that cooperation between YAP and CCP, reciprocal visits, and increased youth interaction are vital for strengthening bilateral relations.

Kang Shuai acknowledged the consistent growth of Azerbaijan-China relations across various sectors, attributing this success to the policies of both countries' leaders. He reaffirmed China's commitment to supporting Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Kang highlighted the significance of collaboration between the ruling parties of both nations and expressed that the CCP delegation's visit would further enhance bilateral interstate and inter-party relations.

The meeting also included a review of the current state and future development of the YAP-CCP partnership, indicating a promising trajectory for Azerbaijan-China relations.
