Azerbaijan and Czech Republic Strengthen Bilateral Economic Ties at Gabala Business Forum

Gabala: On April 27, an Azerbaijan-Czechia business forum was held in Gabala with the participation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej BabAPA reports. The President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic delivered speeches at the event, highlighting the mutual interest in enhancing economic collaboration between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the significance of the visit by Prime Minister Babiand the accompanying Czech business delegation as a sign of mutual interest in expanding business relations. President Aliyev discussed the stable economic environment in Azerbaijan, noting the country's stable currency and positive investment climate, which have attracted substantial foreign investments over the past two decades. He highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects and the strategic cooperation potential in the energy sector, defense industry, and renewable energy.

President Aliyev also underscored Azerbaijan's efforts in developing the East-West transport corridor and its potential in the tourism, transport, and air cargo sectors. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Babifor his visit and emphasized the importance of establishing a Joint Economic Commission to further guide and facilitate business collaboration.

Prime Minister Andrej Babi in his speech, acknowledged Azerbaijan as a strategic partner for the Czech Republic, emphasizing the significance of his visit as his first outside the EU. He highlighted the importance of energy collaboration, noting Azerbaijan as the largest crude oil supplier to the Czech Republic. Prime Minister Babintroduced a delegation of 50 Czech companies from various sectors, including energy, defense, transport, and finance, expressing a keen interest in joint ventures and long-term cooperation.

The business forum served as a platform for both nations to explore new opportunities for economic growth and collaboration, with a shared focus on industry, technology, culture, and education. The discussions underlined a commitment to strengthening ties and fostering a mutually beneficial partnership between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic.
