Azerbaijan and Ecuador Hold First Political Consultations in Quito

Quito: Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov visited the Republic of Ecuador on May 4-5 to engage in the first political consultations between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the consultations were held in Quito and led by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov and Ecuador's Vice Minister of Human Mobility, Alejandro D¡valos. Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian, energy, cultural, and tourism sectors. Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening ties among relevant institutions to enhance agriculture, business, and investment opportunities.

The meeting culminated in the signing of a protocol on the first political consultations and a visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports between Azerbaijan and Ecuador.

During his visit, Elnur Mammadov also delivered a presentation on 'Azerbaijan's Foreign Policy' at Ecuador's Diplomatic Academy. He provided interviews to the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador and the country's leading state-run online newspaper, 'El Telegrafo.' The program also included a meeting with Azerbaijani business representatives operating in Ecuador.
