Azerbaijan and Georgia Explore New Avenues for Cultural Collaboration

Baku: Azerbaijan and Georgia recently held the third meeting of their Joint Working Group on cultural cooperation, hosted in Baku. The gathering was attended by Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov and his Georgian counterpart, Giorgi Mirtskhulava.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting aimed to assess the current state and future potential of cultural and humanitarian partnerships between the two nations. Both officials acknowledged that the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Georgia forms a strong basis for expanding cultural exchanges.

Deputy Minister Farid Jafarov highlighted the shared history and cultural heritage that bind the two countries, along with their longstanding neighborly relations. He noted that recent years have seen bilateral cultural cooperation transition into a more structured partnership. This collaboration now includes various domains such as library science, museum affairs, theater, cultural heritage preservation, fine arts, creative industries, cinema, and digital transformation.

Georgian Deputy Minister Giorgi Mirtskhulava conveyed his country's eagerness to further solidify cultural and humanitarian ties with Azerbaijan.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a protocol that details the key areas of focus for enhancing cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
