Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Georgia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili engaged in a phone conversation to address the recent drone attacks by Iran on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The discussion took place following incidents on March 5 that resulted in damage to infrastructure and civilian injuries.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Bayramov informed his Georgian counterpart of the specific details regarding the attacks, which included damage to the terminal building of Nakhchivan Airport and injuries to civilians. A drone also reportedly fell near a school in the village of Shakarabad, highlighting the potential threat to civilian lives and property.

Minister Bayramov emphasized that the attacks were a violation of international law, contributing to rising tensions in the region. Azerbaijan has demanded a prompt explanation from Iran and urged for urgent measures to prevent future incidents.

Georgia's Minister Botchorishvili expressed concern over the aggression and highlighted the importance of stability and security in the region. The ministers also exchanged views on other mutual interests during their conversation.
